REVISED GUIDELINES FOR SCIENTIFIC CONTRIBUTIONS IN DELHI AOICON
These guidelines were revised and approved by the Governing body members meeting held on 5th Nov 2019 at Maulana Azad Medical College.
1. Mukut Saharia resident award paper
• The competition is open only to residents and fellows of teaching institutions in Delhi and NCR.
• It is recommended that thesis studies may only be sent for presentation. Case reports will not  be considered.  The scientific committee has rights to scrutinize and limit the number of presentations and it also has rights to accept or reject papers and allow them as free papers.
• Last date for receiving entries is 15th Feb 2020. Abstracts received after the last date (15th Feb 2020) will not be accepted under any circumstances. 
• Participants must submit the resident certificate from the head of the Department.
• Abstract- should not be more than 200 words in MS word format, Times Roman and 12 font, may be sent to aoidelhioffice@gmail.com for publication in conference proceedings.
• Abstract should be under the following Headings – Title, Presenting Author, Aim, Methodology, Results and Conclusions.
• Time allowed for presentation is 6 minutes, followed by 2 minutes for questions/discussion by the judges only. It has to be followed strictly and non adherence to time limit may lead to disqualification. The judges’ decision will be final and binding in this regard.
• All scientific presentations competing for the Medals should contain only the presenters name on the first slide with no mention of the institution, place, and name of co-authors or HOD anywhere in the presentation. Any violation will result in rejection of the paper.
• The judges decision will be final and binding to all the participants. 
2. Prakash Ved Monga Temporal bone dissection competition
        The competition is open only to residents. 
        Last date for receiving entries is 15 Jan 2020.
        Participants must submit the resident certificate from the head of department.
        Only one team per institution is allowed.
        Each team will have 2 participants.
        If there is more than 8 teams, the selection of the teams for partcipation may be done on the basis of a written test.
        Entries to the competition may be done by sending mail to aoidelhioffice@gmail.com along with the conference registration details.
        It will be held on a Sunday, one week prior to the Delhi AOICON. Venue and time will be intimated to all participants in due course.
        The scientific committee has rights to limit the entries depending on the availability of temporal bones. 
        The judges’ decision will be final and binding to all the participants.
        The dissected temporal bones cannot be taken away by any participants as it needs to be disposed as per rules properly. 
3. Dr Anoop Raj Resident Quiz
        The competition is open only to residents. 
        Last date for receiving entries is 15 Feb 2020.
        Participants must submit the resident certificate from the head of Department.
        Only one team per institution is allowed.
        Each team will have 2 participants, , having at least one post graduate student.
        Elimination round may be held in case more than 4 teams are there during the conference in  March 2020.
        Final round of the competition will be held in the Main auditorium Hall in front of the audience during the conference in March 2020. 
        Quiz master decision will be final in case on any discrepancy. 
4. Raj S P Soni Video presentation
        The competition is open to all delegates. 
        Last date for receiving entries is 15th Feb 2020
        Video can be on any subject related to ENT disorders – Diagnosis, Management, Prevention, Surgery, Patient Education, etc. 
        Video should be in MPEG 3/ MPEG 4/ AVI Format.
        Only first twenty videos received before the due date will be accepted for the contest.
        Time allowed for presentation is 6 minutes, followed by 2 minutes for questions/discussion by the judges only. It has to be followed strictly and not adhering to timings may lead to disqualification. The judge's decision will be final in this regard.
        Videos must be presented by the presenter. Dubbed videos will not be allowed.
5. Junior Consultant award paper
        The competition is open only to delegates less than 40 years of age.
        Age as on 01.01.2020 should be 40 years or less. Proof of age to be furnished along with the abstract. 
        It is recommended to present original research papers and large case series. The scientific committee has rights to scrutinize and limit the number of presentations and it also has rights to accept or reject papers.
        Last date for receiving entries is 15 Feb 2020.

        The competition is open only to delegates more than 40 years of age.
        Age as on 01.01.2020 should be 40 years or more. Proof of age to be furnished along with the abstract. 
        It is recommended to present original research papers and large case series. The scientific committee has rights to scrutinize and limit the number of presentations and it also has rights to accept or reject papers.
        Last date for receiving entries is 15 Feb 2020.
        Conference registration is must for taking part in any scientific presentation.

7. Best Publication award
        The competition is open only to Delhi AOI members and postgraduates of institutions situated  in Delhi and NCR.
        It is recommended to submit original research papers. The scientific committee has rights to scrutinize the papers.
        The publication copy must be submitted along with the details of Journal and impact factor.
        Only publications indexed in pubmed will be considered.
        Only publication during last 2 years will be considered. (01 Jan 2018 to 31 Dec 2019)
        Accepted papers which are not published will not be considered.
        The authors must be willing to present their publication during annual conference,  in case the paper is selected as best paper
        Last date for receiving entries is 15 Feb 2020.
        Conference registration is must for taking part in this.
        Consent from all the authors must be sent along for submission in the best paper award.
        All the authors of winning paper will receive certificate of best publication award.
        The author of best paper award will be given an opportunity to present it  in the annual conference.
        The judges decision will be final and binding to all the participants. 

Note- Conference registration is must for participation in any of the award category/scientific session.
