There is a head and neck surgery fellowship position now available at our center.

Program description

The head & neck surgical oncology fellowship program at KMCH offers a wide range and volume of cases for acquiring surgical skills. These include thyroid and parathyroid surgery, surgery for tumors of the oral cavity, oropharynx, larynx and hypopharynx, transoral laser microsurgery, parotidectomy, endoscopic sinus and skull base surgery, and reconstructive surgery. Clinical research is essential and publication of at least two peer reviewed original articles is expected. Duration of the program is normally for 2 years.

Eligibility: MS/DNB or equivalent degree in otolaryngology

The ENT Department at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital will be organizing the Singapore Facial Rejuvenation Surgery Fresh Frozen Cadaveric Dissection Course from 3 to 5 December 2015.

The course comprises of a full day of lectures by expert international faculty that will help the delegates to consolidate their understanding of surgical anatomy, facial aesthetics, preoperative assessment, surgical planning and safe execution of surgical techniques used in Facelift, Midface lift, Browlift, Blepharoplasty and Otoplasty.

The next two days will be spent in the Surgical Skills Laboratory where participants will get extensive hands-on training in a wide range of surgical techniques used for Facial Rejuvenation. The
laboratory portion of the course will be limited to 20 Dissectors to allow for close supervision by expert faculty.

We are privileged to have internationally renowned Facial Plastic Surgeons Prof Shan R. Baker (USA), and Prof Jonathan Sykes (USA) as Teachers of Honour for the course. The wealth of experience offered by them will provide a unique learning opportunity for the participants.

The ENT Department at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital will be organizing the 2nd Singapore Facial Fracture and Soft Tissue Reconstruction Fresh Frozen Cadaveric Dissection Course from 6 to 9 December 2015.

This intensive course builds on the very successful and well-received course that we conducted last year. It offers an excellent hands-on opportunity for Otolaryngology, Ophthalmology, Plastic Surgery and Maxillofacial Surgery Residents and Fellows to expand their knowledge and surgical skills in the management of facial fractures and soft tissue injuries and defects.

The organizing committee has arranged an outstanding faculty from USA, Europe and Asia to share their extensive knowledge, skill and experience during the course. The teachers of honour for the course include internationally renowned Facial Plastic Surgeon Prof Shan R. Baker (USA), and Maxillo-facial Surgeon Prof Edward Ellis (USA). The participants will also benefit from the wealth of experience offered by our outstanding multidisciplinary national faculty.

The first day of course consists of didactic lectures covering the common problems encountered in facial reconstruction. The next three days will be dedicated to surgical dissection to impart exhaustive practical training in all aspects of facial reconstruction. The laboratory portion of
the course will be limited to 20 Dissectors to allow for close and personal contact between the faculty and the participants.

The ENT Department at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital will be organizing the 2nd Singapore Advanced Rhinoplasty Fresh Frozen Cadaveric Dissection Course from 29 November to 2 December 2015. This
intensive course builds on the foundations laid during the very successful and well-received course that we conducted last year.

The course comprises of two days of lectures and panel discussions covering the whole breadth of surgical challenges encountered during Rhinoplasty and practical tips on managing them safely,
predictably and effectively. Structured panel discussions by our expert faculty will help delegates to consolidate their understanding of some of the common problems encountered during analysis, planning and execution of Rhinoplasty.

The next two days will be devoted to surgical dissection on high quality fresh frozen cadaveric specimens to provide extensive hands-on training in a wide range of surgical techniques used in
Rhinoplasty. The laboratory portion of the course will be limited to 10 Dissectors and 10 Assistants to allow for intimate supervision by experienced faculty. A unique feature of our course is 1:1 Dissector to Cadaveric specimen ratio.

Training Fellowships
Travel Fellowships disbursed by the FHNO includes three Annual FHNO Travel Fellowships, and one Annual Shireen Gazdar  Training Fellowship in Head-Neck Oncosurgery. 
The FHNO Travel fellowships are open to all aspects of Head-Neck Oncology but the Shireen Gazdar Fellowship is specifically created for surgical training  in Head-Neck Oncology.  The Fellowships provide partial support for the successful candidate to travel to and spend time at any national centre of repute to acquire exposure to and skills in Head-Neck Oncology.
