Johns Hopkins Symposium on Head and Neck Robotic Surgery, Adjuvant Therapy and Emerging Technologies to take place in Baltimore, Maryland, July 24-25, 2014 before the IFHNOS/AHNS World Congress in New York City.

Group discounts still available!

The field of robotics in head and neck surgery has grown tremendously within the last five years and represents the successful translation of robotic technology in the care of the head and neck cancer patient. This has greatly facilitated the development of minimally invasive and aesthetic approaches for the treatment of head and neck cancers and thyroid disorders reducing the morbidity of past treatment approaches. As the body of evidence supporting transoral approaches to the head and neck grows, so too does the knowledge base of adjuvant treatment including radiation-oncology, medical-oncology, and speech-language pathology. It is this multi-disciplinary approach to patient care that our course will focus on. We will go beyond the mere nuts and bolts of transoral surgery, but focus on the rapidly advancing intersection between patient care and technology. As a joint effort between the Johns Hopkins Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and the Whiting School of Engineering, this will be the first course of its kind to bring together an international, renowned group of clinicians and world-class engineers in the field of robotics and haptic research who are advancing the field of head and neck robotic and transoral surgery. The goal of this course is to provide the attendee with up-to-date knowledge in state-of-the-art robotic head and neck surgery, transoral surgery, adjuvant treatment, and emerging robotic technologies. This course will also identify current clinical challenges and foster discussions as to how current and future clinical trials in collaboration with technologic advancements may further facilitate advancements in patient care. Please take a look at our exciting Program below. Note that transportation will be provided to New York City for those planning on attending the IFHNOS/AHNS Congress afterwards.
